A Christmas graphic designer in the UK is taking a look at the future in a way that is both practical and artistic.
Nathan Smith, who specialises in graphics for film and television, recently took a project that he had previously designed for a company called JBH to the office of the Queen for approval.
It is the first time he has used his own designs for anything beyond the usual desktop graphics.
“It’s a really interesting project, and I’m really looking forward to working on it,” he said.
“The most interesting thing I’ve learned from working on this project is how the design process works.”
When you make something, it’s not just a simple, flat design.
It’s a series of things that you’re working with, and each of those things is a new idea.
“I think it’s something that the design industry needs to start thinking about.”‘
The Christmas tree is a Christmas tree’Nathan says he’s looking forward for a new era of Christmas graphics as the season gets into full swing.
“We’re not quite at the point where we can just go on a whim, but I’m looking forward in a big way to the new year and the new technology,” he told The Irish Times.
“And I think I have something to show for it.”
Mr Smith’s project involves a series which consists of three main themes, each with a different kind of visual element.
“One is a tree, which is just a tree with some flowers on it, or the other is a car, which has a red stripe on it.”
In both of those cases, there are different levels of visual design.
“There are some very interesting things to be said about them.”
He says it’s all about the design of the design, but he’s also keen to bring his own perspective to the table.

“This project is a bit of a challenge for me because there’s so much lighting available that’s only going to be used on a few locations,” he added.
“But I’m hoping that in a couple of years, we’ll be able to look at all of that lighting in a lot more detail, and we’ll all be able take a look.”
My favourite thing about the project is that I’m not making it to look like something I’ve seen in a movie, I’m making it as a digital thing that you can make yourself.
“So it’s going to look something different to you, but at the same time it’ll be very familiar to you.”
